Senior Packaging Designer - Corrugated Solutions, Bucks
Highly respected bespoke Corrugated Solutions provider, working with some of the world's most iconic brands, seeks a creative, talented and driven Senior Packaging Designer / Technician to join their Innovative Corrugated Solutions design team in delivering Intelligently crafted and practically effective solutions.
Reporting to the Design Manager, who will provide direction whilst you focus on the daily smooth running of the Innovation Laboratory itself, supporting the manager and the wider your team, you will enjoy leading on customer engagement, interfacing with major customers and using the latest technologies and innovations to deliver pure design solutions across all industry disciplines in delivering award winning solutions for the prestige customer base.
As a Senior Packaging Designer, you will have a strong background in 3D conceptual / corrugated packaging design and be accustomed to operating in a fast paced yet demanding senior creative role, using your effective communications skills to liaise with colleague's peers and high end clientele, interpreting briefs, project managing the entire brief from creative design, structural effectiveness & artworking of packaging from concept through to delivery.
Responsibilities
* Take full responsibility for smooth daily running of the I-lab facility, including team management and orchestration of all customer visits to the site.
* Capable of listening to the customer's needs and a proven ability to communicate in a professional and coherent manner; both in conversation and presentational form
* Support the National Sales teams and use the latest design tools to create innovative cost saving solutions, meeting customer briefs in a caring approach to their business requirements and challenges
* An evolved understanding of consumer trends and supply chain challenges to conceptualise bespoke solutions
* Work closely with customers to ensure goals are met, considering multiple factors including branding, safety and total cost implications
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage projects to meet customer deadlines
* Produce finished customer samples, 3D visuals, artwork proofs and presentations
Key Skills required
* Experience using Kasemake or Artios CAD, SketchUp Pro, Adobe CC, MS Office in rendering 3D conventional corrugated solutions
* Ecommerce and industrial transit packaging knowledge and experience
* Management/supervisory skills
* Results driven, self-motivated and with exemplary time management skills
* Strong communication skills with evolved Customer facing & Account management experience
You will posses a demonstrable level of understanding and relevant industry knowledge, a keenness to stay abreast of the latest innovations and changes in print and packaging and an ability to consistently propose fresh & inspired ideas, promote improved practices and lead a committed team with the same aspirations.
This role would suit an intelligent and motivated Structural Designer & team leader, who can work in a strongly Client facing position, taking design briefs from Clients and translating them into innovative packaging solutions.
