Tax Accountant
** 15 Month Fixed Term Maternity Contract ** Excellent Rate of Pay ** Excellent Benefits **
Our client is looking for an experienced Tax Accountant where you will assist the Tax Manager in managing UK Tax matters for certain UK subsidiaries, relating to VAT, Corporation tax, and PAYE/NIC etc.
Duties:
To support the Tax Manager on matters involving taxation.
Responsible for setting up of tax processes for new entities with support from the Tax Manager.
First point of contact for certain entities in relation to tax affairs.
Liaison with regional Head Office in Germany regarding tax affairs.
Production of IFRS Tax Accounting covering both Current and Deferred Corporation Tax
Preparation of Corporation Tax numbers for half-yearly/yearly reporting in CONETS.
Preparation using Alphatax and submission of yearly Corporation Tax Return to HMRC.
Liaison with external advisors to ensure compliance with increased international tax burdens, such as the BEPs initiative.
Assist the Tax Manager in ensuring transfer pricing compliance for certain UK entities.
Monitor any Group Relief claims or surrenders and manage payment for losses from/to other entities in respect of these.
Production of quarterly VAT Returns to ensure VAT compliance.
Support of Making Tax Digital for certain UK subsidiaries with the support of the Tax Manager.
Assist the Tax Manager in the preparation and submission of the PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) Claims and Incentive Scheme Reporting where necessary and ensuring any new areas are captured so that we maintain compliance in this area.
Assist the Tax Manager in ensuring all areas of tax affairs are compliant, including reviews of business areas, advising and implementing new processes where required.
Maintain the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) Compliance process for entities responsible for.
Ensure tax procedures are maintained.
Assist Legal in areas of legal compliance relating to taxation.
Advising on ad-hoc requests as they arise in relation to Taxation and Financial matters and liaising with external advisors where necessary with support from the Tax Manager.
Any other appropriate duties as required by line manager.
Experience Required:
Knowledge and understanding of VAT
Experience of preparing VAT Returns
Working knowledge of Corporation Tax
Experience of corporate and deferred tax accounting
Experience of working in a tax compliance or advisory role within a commercial environment, HMRC or in practice
Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
Desirable:
Experience of setting up tax affairs of acquisitions.
Any relevant experience / exposure to the financial Services industry.
Awareness of transfer pricing, BEPS and the Common Reporting Standard.
Experience of using Alphatax.
Experience of partial exemption
Working knowledge of Employment Tax
Education / Qualifications:
Essential:
* English and Maths 'O' level or GCSE
* CTA qualified
Desirable:
ACCA/ACA qualified
