Our well established FM client are looking for an Engineering manager who will be responsible for the operational delivery of planned, reactive and associated projects from the maintenance contract.

Start date: ASAP

Salary: GBP38,000 to GBP42,000 dependant on experience.

Location: Norwich

The Engineering Manager will exhibit the following essential technical competencies for the role:

* 5 years' experience in FM and in a hard service contract
* HNC or equivalent (M&E), and/ or minimum of 5 years
* Recent successful experience of controlling business in excess of GBP1m
* IT literate FM Management Information Systems (Concept), MS Word and Excel
* Experience in dealing with sub-contractors and supply chain
* Proven track record in Managing PPM, Reactive and extra Works
* Experience of successful process management
* Experience of working in healthcare and life science environments

The following technical competencies are desirable for the successful engineering Manager:
* Proven track record in successful people management

* Previous experience working for other high-
profile clients.
* Valid formal Health & Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH
* Recent successful experience of negotiations with clients and exercising diplomacy
* Experience in successfully working in a pressured and stressful environment
* Engineering degree in a relevant subject (Electrical/M&E/B&CE)or ideally experience in Facilities
Management preferably with an M&E background.
* Operational understanding of facilities maintenance and building services within a client focused
environment

* Extensive experience in managing a multi-disciplined workforce Behavioural Competencies

enthusing people to be more pro-active, deal with people consistently and develop and maintain good working
relationships.
* A successful Engineering Manager will gain respect and show respect for others, demonstrate creditability by
communicating confidently, clearly and with knowledge, mediate between parties and use questioning and
listening to challenge understanding.
* He or she should make balanced, informed decisions taking into account the impact of the decision on other
areas. Negotiates best possible outcome.
* The Engineering Manager will challenge existing attitudes and status quo, think beyond the scope of the
contract and consider long-term implications, demonstrate understanding of the contract strategy and develop
clear operational plans.
* They should be able to interpret complex numerical and financial data, foresee, identify and resolve problems,
use constructive discussions to sell solutions and defend positions.

Key Result Areas:
1. Programme Management
* Management of FM Hard Service delivery
* Management of M&E planned maintenance delivery and life-cycle programme
* Management of reactive maintenance delivery and incidental/extra works
* Ensure best value management techniques within contract
* Development of contract delivery strategy, providing demonstrable operational benefits aiding the
compilation of the Forward Maintenance Register
* Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems
* Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the plant and assets.
* Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of "Concept" job cards.
* Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe
working practices
* Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual
commitments, and site operating processes.
* Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company
policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
