We are working with a leading retailer who require a BI Developer / SQL Developer to join their fast-growing Technology function. You would be working in a collaborative role within a fast-paced environment that is going through significant change due to growth and investment. There is a rising demand for business intelligence to allow key stakeholders to make insightful commercial decisions.
The client are in the midst of a multi-billion pound global transformation that is seeing the business move into the use of tools such as, Hadoop, Alteryx and Tableau. Your role will be to join the team in supporting the transition to these tools, identifying potential uses of this for the wider business and picking up the SQL server development in order to free up the capacity within the team to allow the team time to upskill in these new tools.
The company are looking to migrate away from SQL gradually over the coming years and with this transition, you may also get the opportunity to transition your own skills into these new areas and be taken into the team on a permanent basis. For the short term, you will be using SQL, SSIS and SSRS to work through the current backlog of task up to February 2022.
This will involve you running reports for different teams within the business. These could be for the buying teams, supply chains, logistics and more. So, you will be kept on your toes with the need to be comfortable working with data from multiple sources. Communication is paramount for this role, and you will be communicating with all levels of the business up to Director level and being the single point of contact on certain projects too.
Role: BI Developer / SQL Developer
Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP54,000 dependent on experience
