We now have an excellent opportunity for a Working Supervisor to join our highly regarded repairs and maintenance team based in the Medway area of Kent. This is a mobile role working across multiple community health care clinics/centres in and around the Medway area and will provide the successful postholder with the opportuntiy to take on some supervisory duties, whilst still maintaining an active role within their trade.

Our maintenance business provides a range of expert planned and responsive maintenance services to domestic properties and commercial buildings in the social housing, health and social care sectors. We look after a growing number of healthcare buildings for NHS Trusts, residential homes and educational facilities. Using the latest technology we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose.

Job Purpose

We are now seeking an experienced Working Supervisor to join our mobile maintenance and repairs team in Medway. The role is varied and involves a mix of supervisory duties (managing a small team of maintenance operatives/contractors) whilst still undertaking some of your own multi-skjilled repairs across Medway care centres including: Balmoral Gardens, Rochester, Rainham and Lordswood Healthy Living Centres. The role is a key part of our team and allows the postholder to develop their career in a supervisory role, whilst still remaining actively involved in a skilled trade.

Our Medway team delivers a first-class repairs service in partnership with an NHS Trust across Medway. We provide reactive and planned maintenance to a number of NHS buildings in and we work to strict timescales and safety requirements to ensure the comfort and safety of service users using these NHS facilities. Depending on your exact trade background, maintenance works may include changing of light fixtures/light bulbs, carpentry, replacing door handles and locks, painting and decorating, some basic plumbing (changing taps, washers), general wear and tear maintenance (filling of holes/retouching, light plastering). In addition to reactive repairs, there will also be some planned, preventative maintenance activities such as temperature checks, emergency light checks and planned upgrade works as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment for service users.

Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. If you have strong people management skills, a trade background and a passion for delivering a quality repairs service, we would strongly encourage you to apply.

Experience Required

The ideal candidate will demonstrate previous experience of working within a multi-skilled or trade role, and some supervisory experience. The work history will ideally include some time working within a healthcare environment, although this is not essential (we will consider candidates from other commercial background such as office, hotel, supermarket, warehouse/factory backgrounds etc).

The preferred candidate will have a good understanding of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel (basic). Overall, the preferred candidate will have strong people skills, great attention to detail and be looking for an opportunity that combines supervisory duties whilst still maintaining an active role within a skilled trade.
