Graphic Designer

Our client is looking for a Graphic Designer for their award winning plant that specialises in high quality printed packaging based in Chesterfield.

Key Responsibilities for the Graphic Designer:

Generating / designing artwork for customer approval while following client brand guidelines.
Amending, checking and pre-flighting artwork before plate manufacture.
Liaising with production, articulating graphic decisions well, offering technical advice and ensuring all artwork is achievable within print production constraints.
Liaising with our sales and account managers and, in some cases clients directly, to understand and deliver to project and client needs.
Creating 3D visualisations of artwork and preparation of customer presentations.
Offering flexible support for the site and handling any internal graphic design requests such as posters, brochures, signage, etc.

The ideal candidate will be / have:

Educated to degree standard in a creative discipline and/or 3+ years' experience of working in a similar or transferable role.
Advanced proficiency in the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Previous experience in working with Esko software such as studio or deskpack.
Experience of the print industry processes i.e. wide format printing, packaging, cutting and small digital samples would be an distinct advantage.
Solid understanding of the Microsoft office suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of CAD systems (preferable but not essential).
You need to have a high attention to detail and work standard, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
Demonstrable experience of efficient and high quality export/rendering techniques to support the design team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work on both a Mac and PC.
Proactive, self-motivated and able to work alone as well as develop relationships as working as an integral part of a design team.
