Quality Manager - Food and Medical and Specialist Packaging Department:
Overview
To provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. Develop quality-process links with customers inline with the Quality Management system (including: associated ISO standards, BRCGS, FSC, and any other standards relevant to the needs of the business ).
Responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximise profit and ensure efficiency.
Manage the audit programme as well as supplier development and improvement.
Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Employees, to maintain a programme of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility.
Lead the team to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
As Quality Assurance Manager, key responsibilities will be to:
• Coach, develop and manage the quality assurance team
• Manage customer complaints, driving a swift response to the customer
• Identify and agree any projects which could improve the quality of the process or product
• Identify product Innovation solutions that improve line efficiency or product quality
• Coach and develop problem solving techniques within production teams
• Devising and establishing the company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
• Conduct supplier evaluations, specifying quality requirements of raw materials
• Monitor non-conformances, drive root cause analysis projects and implement preventive / corrective actions as necessary
• Be responsible across all aspects of the business for ensuring that all employees take quality seriously
• Monitor quality control results, work with internal departments to ensure test methods and procedures are correct
• Manage KPI's, create reports to be shared with suppliers, internal departments and customers
• Control and implement all the associated standards, in particular BRCGS, any Iso related standards and FSC. The key skills that are needed within this role are to:
• Have knowledge of the BRC packaging and/or food standard • Have knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and the QMS
• Have quality assurance experience in a manufacturing background and preferably in a food or food packaging environment
• Be driven to implement change
• Have a good understanding of modern lean manufacture techniques, problem solving etc.
• Computer literate
• Have the ability to deal with shop floor employees as well as management and directors
• Be able to coach, train and lead Qualifications and Experience Levels:
• Significant experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably food or food packaging
• Experience of working in Quality Assurance • Experience of dealing with customers and supplier
