1st Line IT Support Technician

Come and join our league as a 1st Line IT support Technician.

Have you recently completed your Apprenticeship or maybe you have relevant IT qualifications with proven industrial experience? Are you someone who enjoys interacting with others and would love to get exposure working with the best?

Here, you will provide a hands-on IT function, with an onsite presence throughout the grounds, assisting where needed with day-to-day on-site IT user issues. You will be based at the Portman Road Stadium with occasional travel to the Playford Road training ground. You will be expected to provide support on variable match days, therefore work hours and days will very.

There will be career progression opportunities over the coming years as the club strives for promotion to the premier league and beyond.

1st Line IT Support Technician Responsibilities:

As a 1st Line IT Support Technician working closely with our new IT partners, your duties and responsibilities include but not be limited to:

• Answer incoming support calls, providing a friendly and helpful first point of contact
• Dealing with users on the telephone and in person to determine issues quickly and clearly
• Managing personal Service Desk ticket queue ensuring ticket data is clear, concise and up to date
• Providing excellent user service
• Assessing issues quickly, taking appropriate action and escalating when required
• Meeting Service Desk targets for quality and performance
• Variable match day support
• Providing new hardware installs including patching in the network points
• Daily maintenance of IT equipment i.e toners in printers

1st Line IT Support Technician Requirements:

You will have qualifications in Computer Science or related course with proven experience in an IT support role. We welcome applications from those that have completed Apprenticeships schemes in IT.

Essential:

• Microsoft Windows Desktop Support
• Active directory - change passwords, update settings, create and delete users
• Ability to install hardware including patching in network points
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to self-learn and progress
• Approachable with good people skills
• Enjoy interacting with others
• Valid Driving License with preferably your own mode of transport.

Desirable:

• Virtualisation concepts and support including ability to troubleshoot HyperV
• Ability to trouble shoot User VPN
• Office 365 experience - create new users, update email addresses, change forwarding, check mailbox sizes

Location: Ipswich - Portman Road Stadium, with occasional travel to the Playford Road training ground.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time, Working hours: 8.30- 5pm Monday to Friday. Work days will vary for variable match days, with time off in lieu given.

Salary: GBP18,000 - GBP22,000 per annum, depending on experience
