Technical Manager

My client, a successful and award winning FMCG food manufacturing company based near Dorchester (supplying retailer, food service, manufacturing and export sectors) is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Manager / Quality manager to head up their technical team. The successful Technical Manager will report directly into the Site Director and have the support of the Group Technical Director.
The main purpose of the role will be to lead the site technical function, ensuring compliance to Legal, Customer and Accreditation requirements, that day to day quality compliance matters are dealt with and improvements are instigated with a Continuous Improvement Culture
Technical Manager Main Duties and Responsibilities will include:
??Managing the technical standards
??Lead customer & accreditation audits
??Site technical contact for customer and consumer enquiries
??Working closely with NPD Manager / site team to ensure smooth transition of products from concept to launch
??Provide technical resource and legislation support for the export business including export certificates and paperwork for veterinary approval
??Maintaining and development of the site Quality Management System, QMS
??Ensure customer compliance is adhered to regarding minimum testing schedules. Liasing with external laboratories, reviewing results and ensuring corrective action is carried out.
??HACCP Site Team Leader
Your experience
??You will be a hands-on Technical Manager from a food or drink manufacturing background
??Experience in a customer facing role
??Understanding of Food legislation, Food Safety and microbiology
??Formal Food qualification
??Level 3 or above HACCP
??A UK valid driving licence is also essential.
In return the successful Technical Manager will be working for a growing and award winning food manufacturer in the beautiful Dorset countryside. You will earn a competitive salary of between GBP40 - 50k DOE and benefits
