They are a biotech company based in the UK, with an ongoing commitment to improving the outcomes of cancer patients by accelerating drug discovery and the development of new cancer therapies. Our main activities include offering personalised clinical diagnostic services to cancer patients, offering contract research services, and developing a world-leading well-characterised Biobank.
Must Haves
* A BSc in cell/molecular biology
* 5 years' experience in a cell-culture laboratory
* Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
* Excellent record keeping and problem-solving skills
Job Description
As a Lab Manager you will plan and implement the laboratory policies, procedures, and assays for the clients Therapeutics. You will ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations, including stock control and ordering. You will be responsible for managing the biobank including quality control and compliance adherence as well as the companies QMS and ISO accreditation.
As a member of the team, your responsibilities will include creating and updating SOPs and ensuring that all record keeping is compliant and up to date. The primary location for this role will be in the Northwest.
Key responsibilities:
• Accountable for the management, procurement, logistics, and planning of daily operations
• Oversee compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and SOPs
• Maintain supplies, orders, and procurements
• Effectively communicate lab requirements (resourcing, equipment) to members of the Senior Leadership Team, or other functions as required
• To take responsibility for reducing hazards and for the health and safety of others and be responsible for conducting risk assessments as and when required
• Ensure optimal management and maintenance of lab IT systems
• Train laboratory members, as required
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with:
• A BSc in cell/molecular biology
• 5 years' experience in a cell-culture laboratory
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
• Excellent record keeping and problem-solving skills

Technical
The right applicant will be competent in more than one of the following technical/job-specific
skills:
• Cell culture techniques
• Computer literate and proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation packages
• Good knowledge of biochemical and/or molecular biology methods
• Working knowledge of software for lab management systems essential
• Previous experience running an accredited laboratory is desirable
