The Client
Working for a Local Authority in the North Tyneside area
The purpose
Assisting facilitated discharge, admission avoidance and supporting residents in the community - in relation to the delivery/fitting, demonstration and collection of equipment. The maintenance of an effective and efficient servicing regime in accordance with health and safety legislation and manufacturers recommendations.
The Role
As one of the Equipment Technicians on this project, you will be responsible for the following:
Inspection, identification of defects, repairing, maintenance, servicing, testing and certification of Loan equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, and maintenance manuals.
Scrapping of Loan Equipment in accordance with recognised procedures.
Portable Appliance testing of electrical equipment.
Assist with the organising of equipment for delivery.
The loading and unloading of service, delivery and collection vehicles.
The regular cleaning and decontamination of vehicles
Delivery, fitting, demonstration, servicing and collection of loan equipment in service users homes in accordance with work schedules
Fitting of grab rails as required.
Ensuring that all equipment is fitted correctly and can be used safely by the service user. If this is not the case, recording the problem so the assessor can be advised.
Maintain the highest standards of Customer Care.
The keeping and updating of both manual and computer/bar coding records.
Maintaining the working/maintenance area and hand and power tools in a safe condition.
Assist in the store and in the decontamination of equipment as and when required.
Deputise for the Service Engineer and Senior Equipment Technician as and when required.
Perform any other duties, which are related to the objectives and policy of Provider Services as appropriate to the grade of the post.
You must have
Warehouse experience
Driving license
Enhanced DBS (in last 12 month)
To be able to manage the physical element of the role
To be prepared to work flexibly across functions and locations to meet the need of the service.
