Maintenance Technician
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team in Preston.
You will be responsible for predictive and productive maintenance to ensure optimal production conditions, and maintenance of the plant equipment. Ensure H&S and environmental requirements, both legislatively and Company led, are met.
Maintenance Technician Duties will include:
* Breakdown and reactive maintenance necessary to keep all plant equipment in operating condition. Liaise with production to keep plant downtime minimum.
* Keep PPM schedule up to date to ensure optimum machine time availability.
* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operational manuals and manufacturer's specifications.
* Update maintenance record (e.g., complete PPM worksheets/daily checklists) and complete technical records (e.g., managing technical documentation, and drawings).
* Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve availability and reliability.
* Support and help with ongoing and new projects at site.
* Compliance with legal and Company policies and procedures (SSOW), regarding EHS, storage and housekeeping.
The successful Maintenance Technician candidate must have:
* Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering discipline
* 8 years industrial experience in relevant industry
* Attention to details and efficient skills in fault finding, ability to analyse and troubleshoot
* Hands on experience with pneumatic diaphragm pumps, centrifugal pumps, and actuated valves
* Able to read P&ID pneumatic, schematic, and technical drawings
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Experience with PC skills in Windows environment required
* Experience in chemical manufacturing environment will be preferred
* Overtime available
