Integra People are looking for a Chef for our client based in Warrington.

Hours - 3pm - 10pm working 5 shifts on, then 3 days off on a rolling rota (this equates to 30 hours per week)

Salary - GBP18,488 per annum pro rata


To prepare and serve food in line with the Food Standards Act 1999 regulations. To ensure that service areas are equipped, hygienically cleaned, safe and a comfortable space for residents. To ensure that all residents have the daily option of purchasing a healthy and nutritious meal, access to free hot / cold drinks options 24hrs a day, by staff trained and equipped to deliver services to a high standard.

1. To clean and maintain two kitchen and storage areas.

2. To manage a budget, meal planning, prepare and serve meals.

3. To assist in the provision of life skills training for residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To clean and maintain two kitchen areas

1.1 To maintain a cleaned and sanitised kitchen area

1.2 To maintain a cleaned and sanitised equipment and food storage area.

1.3 To maintain the hygiene of clothes, tea towels and utensils.

1.4 To clean windows and the doors of the kitchen areas.

1.5 To sweep / vacuum, polish and mop hard floors.

1.6 To empty waste receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with local recycling policy.

2. To manage a budget, meal planning, prepare and serve meals.

2.1 To develop healthy balanced meals in consultation with residents and within budget.

2.2 To monitor kitchen stocks, order supplies and /or purchase of items.

2.3 To ensure that cupboards and fridges has available cold breakfast items for a self service

2.4 To ensure drink facilities are available for self service

2.5 To prepare and serve a cold lunch and a hot evening meal.

2.6 In adherence to the Food Standards Act 1999, maintain a daily log to ensure high standards of hygiene are being maintained in the food preparation and serving areas.

2.7 Ensure that appropriate clothing, including head ware, is worn at all times by staff or service users working in the kitchen area.

3. To assist in the provision of life skills training for residents

3.1 To promote and maintain a professional attitude towards residents, visitors and colleagues.

3.2 To design and lead on activities to build life skills with residents which may include budgeting, meal planning, kitchen and food hygiene.

4. General

4.1 To participate in any training that may be considered necessary in developing the work.

4.2 To move around Association sites if and when required to support the business need.

4.3 Strict adherence to confidentiality, particularly in the details of Service Users and staff is required at all times.

4.4 To work in accordance with the Association's Safeguarding Accountability Framework at all times.

4.5 To treat everybody with respect and demonstrate commitment to Equality and Diversity.
