Furdeco is a nationwide two-person delivery company specialising in furniture and garden items. Our delivery service runs across 7 days a week to suit customer's needs.
With over 10 years' experience, we have built up a good reputation in our space delivering home furniture, appliances, and related products within the UK, working with a number of household brands including Debenhams, Harveys, Furniture Village and DFS to name a few!
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and proactive Fleet Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fleet Manager will be responsible for effectively and continuously managing the Transport activities on a daily basis, to ensure that all the workers and Furdeco are operating safely and compliantly.
You will:
* Make arrangements to ensure that Drivers comply with all legislations, policies and procedures including safety, speed limits and licences.
* To ensure that the vehicles are maintained properly, including the inspection of vans at the end of the day and action any defects found.
* Reporting and recording vehicle defects highlighted by the Drivers.
* Make arrangements for the repairs / maintenance of the fleet.
* Liaising with suppliers with regards to vehicle bookings to ensure prompt return.
* Monitoring and arranging MOT's, services, tax and other legal requirements are taken at the appropriate time.
Essential experience / qualifications:
* 3 years Fleet Management experience.
* Transport Managers Qualification.
* The ability to supervise, coordinate and direct staff.
* To communicate effectively, both written and orally.
* Must hold a clean driving licence.
* Experience of driving large vehicles of 3.5 tonne is preferred.
* A good understanding of vehicle mechanics and defect rectification is essential.
* To maintain effective working relationships with the subordinate employees.
