Our client is a well established food manufacturer within the Middlesbrough area, due to business growth they are now seeking a Production Manager to strengthen their existing team.
This is a great opportunity for either an experienced Production Manager or a Supervisor looking for career progression.
Hours of work will be 5 days out of 7 per week (Dayshift initially, likely to move to two shifts; earlies and backs).
The role:
*
Planning and organising orders for the production lines
*
Provide leadership on aspects of Production, People, Quality, Training, HSE, as well as responsibility for being hands on to maintain efficiency
*
Provide guidance, support, direction and leadership to the team to achieve maximum productivity
*
Ensure modern manufacturing techniques are followed and adopted by team members
*
Promote positive culture and attitudes at all levels of the business
*
Create shift reports,weekly staff rota and holiday requests
*
Help achieve all production targets
*
Troubleshoot problems and downtime to prevent issues reoccuring; implementing procedures and/or training to improve
*
Identify improvements and execute implementation strategies
*
Ensure the team adhere to all company rules and policies
*
First point of contact regarding grievances and disciplinary actions
*
Support, coach and mentor supervisors and team leaders
*
Ensure quality control checks are undertaken and documented
Your skills and experience:
*
Solid experience of working in a manufacturing environment, those from FMCG would be highly desired although is not essential
*
Able to work in a hands-on role and drive production from the front
*
Good leadership experience
*
A problem solving attitude
*
The ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve set targets
*
Strong communication and relationship building skills
*
Computer literate
The contract / salary:
