We’re currently looking for an Assistant Rural Surveyor to join us on a full-time basis for a two-year fixed-term contract.

The Role
 
As an Assistant Rural Surveyor, you will be responsible for helping to provide a professional land agency service and helping to manage the National Park’s estate.
 
Reporting to the Land & Property Manager, you will help develop and maintain good working relationships with tenants, graziers, licensees and other stakeholders. You will support income generation from the Authority’s let estate by drafting, letting and managing permissions to use the Authority’s land including farm tenancies, grazing licences and covenants.
 
Additionally, you will help manage the Authority’s in-hand estate and undertake the administration of its agri-environment schemes. You will also oversee any maintenance and repair work required, preparing detailed specifications, procuring goods and services and ensuring the work is completed to a high standard.
 
About You
 
To join us as an Assistant Rural Surveyor, you will need:
 
- A RICS accredited degree in Rural Estate Management or similar
- To be a qualified rural surveyor or graduate working towards professional qualification
- Practical experience of estate management
- Good time management skills including the ability to identify, plan and deliver projects
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to advise, negotiate and influence people
- To be competent in the use of IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office software and GIS
- An understanding of Exmoor
- A full driving licence and the ability to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within the National Park and elsewhere
- The ability to work alone and outdoors in all weathers
 
This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week on a two-year fixed-term contract. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
