About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Category Manager to join us on a full time permanent basis to work within our Procurement Team, providing support to the Head of Procurement in implementing the group’s procurement policy and strategy.

You will be responsible for the management of the whole life cycle of contracts from procurement to contract management and review ensuring that the organisation is obtaining value for money (VfM) in all contracts in addition to compliance with relevant Public Contracts Regulations (OJEU/ UKPCR2015).

You will liaise closely with relevant departments within their assigned categories and will be responsible for ensuring that advice and guidance is provided.

You will also provide support to Contract Managers across the assigned categories to ensure smooth operation of procurement and contract management.

About you

It is essential that you are CIPS qualified Level 5 or working/ studying towards it (or equivalent).

You must have strong commercial and business awareness and be customer focused with clear understanding of the ‘internal customer’. Good knowledge of public sector procurement regulations (OJEU/ UKPCR) are also required for this role.

You will be Committed to process improvement, continually analysing processes and driving change where required and be passionate about the benefits a modern procurement function can deliver and communicate with the business to ensure complete buy in.
