CCTV/Security Service Engineer

This is a field based role which requires a degree of physical work, working at height and driving to and from sites within a given day. Carrying out your duties may be in a lone working scenario or with a colleague depending on the job at hand. Primary duties will be to deliver preventative visits to access control, intruder alarm and CCTV systems mainly in commercial environments, to company and NSI standards, within a given time. Depending on experience and grade, you will be expected to deal with pre-booked preventative visits on small or large systems, and attend to reactive faults demanding more or less technical experience.
The higher grade engineer will typically have excellent fault diagnosis skills including on the more complex systems where a less experienced engineer will concentrate on preventative maintenance, straight forward repairs and replacements, and basic faults.

GENERAL DUTIES
1. To adhere to company procedures and health and safety policy.
2. To act in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
3. To wear uniform and PPE during working hours.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
1. To maintain equipment in good working order, and store safely in an organised way.
2. To request spares or equipment as required from your line manager, to ensure you can carry out your duties efficiently.
3. To look after your company vehicle if provided.
DOCUMENTATION
1. To complete and return all required installation or service related paperwork, via PDA or email if possible.
2. To complete and return HR documentation in a timely manner, via our dedicated Timesheet email group or HR on line platform where appropriate.
SERVICE DUTIES
1. To adhere to NSI codes of practice and industry standards
2. To participate to call out rotor as issued
3. To carry out maintenance visits as and when scheduled by the Service Desk
4. To keep your line manager and service desk updated on your daily progress
5. To deliver all tasks as per your grade to the best of your ability
6. To liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for technical advice when necessary
7. To provide telephone support to selected Clients when on call with a view to diagnose and rectify faults.
INSTALLATION SUPPORT
1. To occasionally assist the Installation department if required by the business.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as dictated by your changing role within the organisation and overall business objectives of the organisation.

GRADE 0 - DUTIES

A self-reliant engineer, able to work autonomously
To support the Technical Service Manager in their role
To liaise with Clients over any technical issues and resolve them in a timely manner
To help the Service Desk Operators with the work load scheduling.
To help build the business going forward
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Management training CITB SMSTS or equivalent
Competent on main manufacturers products installed by the company
Proficient with IT
7 years + experience as an engineer
Security cleared
ECS card
IPAF
Leadership training
GRADE 1 - DUTIES

Able to support Engineer Technician 0 in ensuring 1st Time Fixes are completed on a regular basis
Assist with PPMs are completed in a timely manner.
Expected to cover for Engineer Technician 0 should the engineer be otherwise engaged.
Provide telephone support to other Engineers who require assistance
Only occasionally require support or advice from Engineer Technician 0
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Competent on main manufacturers products installed by the company
5-7 years' experience as an engineer
Proficient with IT
Supervisory training CITB SSSTS or equivalent
Security cleared

IPAF
GRADE 2 DUTIES

Good knowledge of IT based faults
Able to complete first fix fault finding of IP Integrated Systems
Must also be able to perform programming for the integrated systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Security cleared
Supervisory training CITB SSSTS or equivalent
Good knowledge of IT systems enabling fault fixing.

Able to fault find on Integrated Systems
Understands the use of relays
A able to perform Programming of Multiple Systems

Able to complete Routine Maintenances
Able to complete Small Works
Able to fault find basic fault conditions.
