JOB OVERVIEW: Electronics & RF Engineer (design and modelling) sought by exciting market leading innovative R&D electronic systems PLC company who provide pioneering electro-mechanical solutions predominantly to the automotive and aviation sectors.
Contract type: Permanent
Salary : Negotiable but as a guide GBP40-GBP50K basic plus share options plus pension, health, dental, life, free parking +
Location - Oxford area.
Start date - August onwards (flexible)
Working conditions: Normal office and light workshop environment with occasional travel as required to customers' sites and test facilities.
THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY
As a result of expansion my client has an exciting new vacancy for an "Electronics & RF Engineer - design and modelling" to join the established existing team! This role is more likely to suit a junior to mid-level engineer rather than a senior engineer but all applications are welcome!
Reporting directly to the Chief Scientist, duties will include:
1.Responsibly for the design and development of electronic systems based on microprocessors for wireless applications.
2.Supporting customer prototype evaluation activities.
3.Design of electronic systems.
4.Programming DSP and microcontrollers.
5.Design of UHF RF antennas and near field couplers.
6.Design and development of prototype mixed signal circuits and systems.
7.Measurement of the performance of sensing systems.
8.design and characterisation.
9.Project time planning.
10.Writing technical reports, prototype specifications and other technical documentation.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ideal applicant will be a good match to much of the following:
1.Masters or a good bachelor's degree in Electronics / RF engineering from a reputable university.
2.Good understanding of electronic circuits, circuits with microcontrollers and DSP algorithms.
3.An understanding of RF engineering within the UHF bands which includes antenna design, receivers and transmitters, familiarity with standard RF test equipment such as spectrum analyser, network analyser etc and with the RF circuit and EM simulation packages, for example: Microwave Office and COMSOL RF module.
4.Embedded programming skills.
5.Familiarity with PCB layout design packages.
6.Ability to accurately describe ideas and results in a technical report.
7.Be a team player, work accurately under pressure with minimal supervision and maximum enthusiasm to ensure customer satisfaction with the company's products.
8.Possess good communication, IT and reporting skills.
