Experienced Financial Accountant required for a large, fast paced manufacturing business based in Worksop due to internal promotion. This is a great opportunity to join a company who supports on the job training and development opportunities.
The purpose of the role is to produce monthly primary financial statements and related board reports sections in line with Group and accounting standard, manage the financial internal control environment and prepare budgets and forecast for the primary financial statements and fixed costs. Responsibilities to include:
Reconcile the trial balance and post journals where necessary to ensure the month end reports are in line with accounting standard
Produce primary financial statements, using the agreed template, to submit to Group within agreed timeframe
Prepare the month end commentary for the balance sheet, cash flow and fixed costs for inclusion in the relevant report
Input in to balance sheet, cash flow and fixed cost forecasts for inclusion in the site submission
Monitor the established internal financial control environment to ensure that current standards are maintained
Produce fixed cost analysis and supporting commentary to provide insight on key trends and propose corrective actions
Monitor capital spend against budget / forecast to ensure spend is within agreed limits and exceptions are escalated
Maintain the Fixed Assets register ensuring all items are clearly identified, allocated to relevant projects and reconciled to the trial balance
Prepare supporting schedules for audit purposes and deal with queries from both internal and external audit teams
Review and approve monthly VAT return submissions and prepare supporting schedule for annual corporation tax calculations
Other ad hoc duties as required

The successful candidate will be part qualified, finalist, newly qualified or QBE
Good communication skills are essential - ability to communicate at all levels - finance and non finance
Knowledge of finance system management, internal controls and accounting standards required
