We are currently recruiting for Employment Coaches for Local Government based in Blackpool

Role Purpose
To support the effective implementation of the Fylde Coast's Kickstart programme - a new initiative aiming to provide 6-month paid employment opportunities for long term unemployed 16-24 year olds. The post holder will be responsible for managing a caseload of Kickstart participants, liaising with their employers, providing in-work support and progression beyond the job placement period.

Duties to include:
•The post holder will work at a delivery level with programme participants and host employers to support the development and implementation of the Kickstart programme in the Fylde Coast area.

•The post holder will support the development of suitable employment opportunities within Blackpool Council, it's ALMO's and the private, community and voluntary sectors and assist with the development of mechanisms to support the host employers to ensure participants receive a positive reintroduction to the workplace.

•The post holder will support and manage a caseload of Kickstart programme participants and respond flexibly to their needs to ensure that they maximise their 6 month period of employment.

•The post holder will keep up to date computer records of interactions with clients and gather and collate all output evidence to allow the required monitoring and statistical returns to be completed.

•The post holder will be the first point of contact for queries in relation to the Kickstart programme from specific employing organisations and their Kickstart employees.

•The post holder will work in partnership with Adult and Community Learning staff to support young people to access appropriate training and development opportunities whilst in employment on the Kickstart programme.

•The post holder will deliver a package of on-programme and post programme support for participants which will offer mediation between host employers and employees to ensure that, where possible, Kickstart participants maximise their 6 month job opportunity.

•The post holder will also be expected to develop links and referral pathways so that if appropriate, employees can be signposted to additional support networks.

•The post holder will provide pastoral support for the Kickstart participants and host employers which will include areas such as:-
1. Pastoral 'on programme' support
2. Basic HR advice to host employers with the support of Blackpool Council's HR Directorate.
3. Post programme support and follow-on plan.

•The post holder will monitor the progress of their caseload of to inform the Project Manager in the compilation of reports to partner agencies and Senior Managers.

•The post holder will support with the distribution of financial resources to host employers as appropriate, to enable participants to complete the programme, subject to sign off by the Project Manager.

Requirements:
•Level 2 (GCSEs Grade A-C or Grades 9-4) or equivalent qualification in English and Maths
•NVQ 2 in Advice and Guidance or similar qualification
•Full driving licence

Experience
•Considerable practical delivery experience of helping disadvantaged clients into employment, training or other specialist support services using a casework management approach.
•Considerable experience of providing guidance and brokering support for individuals who have complex needs
