Lab Technician
Photocentric Ltd based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and US is an award-winning manufacturer of 3D printers and resins. With our uniquely different attitude to manufacturing photopolymer and 3D printing, our innovative company is rapidly growing and as a result we are now on the search for a Lab Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities of our Lab Technician include:
- Testing sample components obtained from suppliers and giving feedback to the Lead Chemist or interested party to inform suppliers.
- Test chemicals from multiple suppliers to ensure fit for use as alternative sourcing.
- Formulate and test 3D resins under the supervision of the Lead Chemist.
- Record all results obtained in a systematic manner and prepare brief internal reports about the tests results.
- Perform and record a series of different testing procedures for lifetime studies of 3D printed parts, keeping track of when samples need to be tested by.
- Perform existing and new tests on currently commercial resins.
- Benchmark resins against resins produced internally to assist with gap analysis.
- Actively participate in the process of continuous improved of the Company's Product Safety and Quality Management System, products and processes.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and lead by examples in all areas of work.
- Assist the Lead Chemist as directed.
Experience and skills required for our Lab Technician:
- Ideally Experience in a lab within a manufacturing environment or a recent Chemistry graduate
- A genuine interest in 3D printing
- Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to write detailed reports
- Understanding of ISO9001 would be an advantage
- Good effective communicator at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
