The IT Systems Engineer reports directly to the IT Manager on a 'day-to-day' basis. The role sits within the IT team within our business and will function as part of an efficient and productive team to ensure all IT systems are 100% functional across the business.
IT Systems Engineer duties and responsibilities include; but are not limited to:
* Manage and monitor all installed IT systems and infrastructure
* Install, configure, test, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, application software and system management tools
* Manage backups including the rotation of backup media
* Monitor and maintain CCTV systems
* Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with other members of the team to implement those fixes
* Provide technical support to end users for both hardware and software issues
* Be an active member of the IT helpdesk team, which includes but is not limited to answering any user requests made via phone call, electronic helpdesk software, or in person.
* Provide out of hours support to production areas for emergencies only on a weekly rota basis
* To take ownership of user problems, perform technical diagnosis and implement the fix
* Support users with the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
* To arrange for external support whenever problems cannot be resolved in-house
* Perform light lifting and manual handling of IT equipment
* Above all you must be adaptable to work across the whole business adhering to Health and Safety measures that are at the forefront of our company.

IT Systems Engineer Qualifications and Experience
* ESSENTIAL - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
* GCSE in English Language, Maths and Science Grade A - C (9 - 5)
* VMware and Hyper-V
* Server builds (Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019)
* Microsoft Office / Exchange / SharePoint (2016/O365)
* SQL
* Patch management
* Networking - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, Firewall, VPN Support
* Routers and Switches - Cisco, Siemens
* Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
* The ability to work in a team and communicate at all levels in the business is essential
IT Systems Engineer - Package

* Days Staff position - Flexi-Time 36.25 Mon- Fri hours per week
