Systems Analyst

GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 depending on experience + bonus + great benefits + flexible working hours
Applause IT are hiring for a systems analyst with 2+ years relevant experience working with stake holders to elicit requirements and working with developers to specify software development projects in a MS Windows, SQL and Agile based environment.
The company is currently carrying out a major software modernisation programme and is keen to strengthen their team with someone from an Agile SDLC background who has good appreciation for the modern Windows Microsoft development stack, SQL Database schemes, client-server system architecture and user interface design issues.
The successful candidate will work with the users of the company IT systems and the other members of the IT Development team, to specify requirements, and design, test and implement new and updated business applications. The post holder will also carry out project management tasks to ensure that systems are built and delivered.
The successful systems analyst candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate previous experience within a similar environment with proven analytic and communication skills (both written and verbal in English) to elicit and document functional requirements also translating them into technical stories for developers. Knowledge of multi-table database design theory and SQL for querying (any RDBMS) is preferred.
Desirable (by no means essential):
Understanding of modern UX/UI concerns, wire-framing or how to mock-up prototypes interfaces.
Exposure to testing tools and automation of commonly repeated tests.
Any specific experience of requirements capture for finance/manufacturing/sales and marketing based systems.
Any project management type experience working with scoping, outlining and delivering against milestones and controls in conjunction with line management etc.
