News Reporter - Express

Express is looking for an outstanding News Reporter to join our team. We are keen to speak with experienced reporters who thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment, enjoy the thrill of breaking news and securing brilliant exclusives. This role will be predominantly based at home, with some office presence within our London (Canary Wharf) office.

What will the role involve?

The successful candidate for this role will write and develop stories, with great pictures and engaging video. You will deliver a fast turnaround on major news stories across the UK and around the world and be expected to bring in exclusive stories that set us apart from our rivals.

Who are we looking for?

You will be a qualified and experienced journalist, possessing at least 18 months experience at a national or major regional title. Passionate about delivering a wide range of engaging human interest and hard hitting news stories, you will understand what works for a digital audience and deliver content to prove this.

You will relish the daily challenge of working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Any journalist will understand the requirement of flexibility, and this role will involve days, nights and weekends. You will be social media savvy with current SEO knowledge. An understanding of Escenic CMS and Chartbeat is desirable.
