Our client are a very successful Builders Merchant providing Building Supplies to the construction industry. Due to the companies continued success and expansion, they are looking for a Yard Supervisor to join their busy branch to support the Yard Manager within the company.
As Yard Supervisor you will lead the Yard Team's performance by delivering exceptional levels of customer service and operational standards. You will assume primary responsibility for the daily planning, implementing, and maintaining of impeccable standards and organization across both Yards. You will work closely with the Yard Team ensuring smooth day to day running of both Yards, getting involved in tasks at all levels as required.
The working pattern includes Monday to Friday and alternative Saturday mornings and the main duties are as follows:
Main duties would include but are not limited to:
* Attend to customers and the loading of vehicles when required.
* Maintain a neat and tidy yard at all times.
* Supervise all Yard Team whilst they carry out daily operations whilst working in the Yard.
* Maintain optimal levels of customer service and assist to resolve any customer issues.
* Overseeing preparation of materials for delivery in the designated loading areas.
* Unload and check the quantities and quality of goods delivered into the yard.
* Report any stock shortages and damages to the appropriate staff member before signing for any goods received in delivery.
* Ensuring all deliveries are processed and put away in the correct areas.
* Overseeing proper handling of all yard materials.
* Ensuring that all Yard Team are aware of their responsibilities, supporting the Yard Manager in monitoring staff performance and providing relevant feedback where appropriate.
* Plant and Machinery Training (Training Given)
* Any other reasonable management request.
In exchange our client are offering the following:
* Basic salary of up to cGBP26,000
* Company Pension
* 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) which rises with service rising to a maximum of 38 days including bank holidays
