Job Title: Machine Operator

Starting Salary: 21-24K depending on experience + Shift Allowance

Hours a week: 40hrs - Days/Nights

Position: Temp to Perm

My client is an award-winning clean technology company looking for grafters and self-starters to join their team, who can keep up with the pace and want to make a difference.

The Role

As the Technical Operator you will be part of a small shift team responsible for the day to day operation of the factory production plant and machinery. On the Production you will be required to carry out the start-up, running, and shut down procedures, including emergency shut down procedures.

You will also be required to carry out routine checks and inspection of production equipment; work to SOPs; comply with safety instructions and standards;

The goal is to ensure that production procedures can be carried out smoothly to maximise efficiency and meet production targets.

Responsibilities

Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, safety inspections etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
Test operation of machines periodically
Fix issues that might occur during the shift
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Maintain activity logs
Work with SOPs
Manage the safe shut down of the machinery
Operate a counterbalance fork truck for moving feedstock and finished product (desirable not essential, training can be given)
Your skills and experience

Counterbalance fork truck
Telehandler (13m reach) (desirable)
Full driving licence (site is remote, so transport is required)

Experience in manufacturing operation and especially as a machine operator
Understanding of production procedures
Ability to read and follow SOPs
Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues at all levels
A team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers
Attention to detail
Must have a proficient level of safety knowledge and respect for safety precautions (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
A High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree or vocational qualifications is a plus
