We have an opportunity for a Trainee Mechanic in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has an interest and ability in mechanical/electrical engineering who has either already completed an NVQ or similar qualification or wishes to undertake this qualification.

THE CANDIDATE
Successful candidates will have the following:
Previous textile manufacturing experience would be an advantage but is not essential
Maths and IT skills Grade B or above
An NVQ or equivalent in a mechanical related subject (desirable)
Ability to complete paperwork and be IT Literate to a competent level
Team work
Ability to follow instructions
Be able to travel to the site at Lea Mills, Matlock, Derbyshire without reliance on public transport
THE ROLE
We have a wide variety of machinery in our factories. This role would be part of our Production Mechanics team and would be trained on preventative maintenance and problem solving predominantly within our Knitting section.
Our mechanics support the knitting team on a day to day basis but also ensure our machines are fit for purpose by completing regular preventative maintenance as per manufacturer's requirements. We have a mix of machines, which range from traditional knitting frames, to modern computerised machines.
