We are looking for a Export coordinator to book containers and handle all shipping requirements for the removals and trade departments including processing VGM and full shipping function.
The ideal export coordinator will have some experience in Freight or Shipping industries. A competitive salary will be offered alongside the opportunity to work in a well established & friendly company. Full support and training will be given.
We are one of the UK's largest international removals & shipping company and handles around 20,000 individual baggage shipments and overseas removals annually. Responsibilities:
• to calculate the shipping cost of non-tariff shipments
• to liaise with trade colleagues and develop a working rapport with them
• to visit trade customers at their premises and further develop Trade sales (on occasion)
• to respond to rate requests within 24 hours
• to oversee and administer all trade sales
• to monitor all trade groupage enquiries and shipments and cost accordingly
• to ensure the staff in the department carry out their functions in accordance with procedures
• to monitor performance of subordinate staff and instigate any corrective action
• to deal with and maintain claims records
• to ensure that the General Manager is advised of all claims both insured and un-insured
• to notify the General Manager of problems which could adversely affect the standards of service provided
• to recognise potential marketing opportunities for the Company
• to back up department staff by answering all phone calls within 4 rings and connect the party to the correct contact
• to adhere to departmental and other relevant procedures
• to assist other staff in department where necessary
• to keep Manager notified of any issues which may affect or enhance the Company's performance
• to maintain confidentiality at all times
• to represent Company as deemed appropriate
• to comply with Health and Safety legislation and the Health and Safety Policy
• to comply with the Environmental Policy
• any other duties as may be requested by the Company

Position: Full time and Permanent
Salary: GBP 23,500 per annum
