Opportunity to join a long established precision engineering company as an Engineering Inspector.
Main Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Chief Inspector, you will have responsibility for ensuring the quality of components produced by the company are of the customers required standards.
Main Responsibilities
* Performing inspection checks and associated paperwork to ensure compliance to customer requirements.
Key Tasks Defined
* Goods in, 1st off, in process and final inspection of machined parts.
* Providing independent assurance to the Chief Inspector that the customer's requirements have been met.
* Generating and completing quality documentation F.A.I.R. etc???
* CMM experience.
* Problem solving in conjunction with other departments.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety.
This is not an exhaustive list, and you are required to be flexible in your approach to carrying out your duties which may change from time to time to reflect changes in the company's approach to a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills and Attributes Required
* Able to understand and interpret engineering drawings and external customer specifications.
* A good team player who can work under their own initiative.
* IT skills - Microsoft office etc.
* Able to use all types of measuring equipment.
Qualifications or Experience Required
* An engineering apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level would be advantageous.
* At least 5 years previous inspection experience.
* Experience of using CMM's.
* Knowledge of measuring equipment.
