Opportunity:

Brewster Partners are working with a market leading manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager who will ensure legal compliance for health and safety in the workplace and the delivery of the company Health & Safety strategy and initiatives for their Chesterfield site.

Duties will include:

Development of the company wide Health & Safety strategy, ensuring legislative requirements are met
Develop the Health & Safety culture
Deliver all aspects of Health & Safety related training, work with the HR & Training Manager to develop a structured training plan across all site
Continuous development of all Health & Safety policies and procedures ensuring they are consistent with UK legislative requirements
To ensure all risk assessments and safe systems of work are reviewed in line with legislative, equipment and environmental changes
Audit the organisations compliance with Health & Safety
Work closely with Supervisors and Managers on all aspects of Health & Safety, providing them with key areas of focus
To liaise with the Project Manager and monitor all contractor compliance on site, ensuring all statutory requirements and our site rules are maintained
Develop an incident reduction process to identify and eliminate repeat accidents. Take the lead in any incidents on site, communicate actions and report remedial actions required
To ensure all PUWER assessments are current
To ensure all fire equipment on site is adequate and meets all legal requirements
Chair a monthly Health & Safety meeting and provide a detailed action log
To ensure regular communication with the Managing Director

Skills and experience required:

Manufacturing experience and 14001/45001 health and safety experience
NEBOSH and / or minimum NVQ Level 4 in Safety
Several years' experience in a Manufacturing background
Demonstrate achievements in a management role responsible for Health & Safety
Experience of developing, implementing and continuously improving management systems
Ability to prioritise and organise
