Excellent opportunity for an Application Support person to work within IT support team in a growing software business. Joining this dedicated team providing telephone and on-site assistance to customers throughout the country, dealing with various software and hardware technology issues. This is a full-time hands-on technical role and provides an excellent opportunity to expand and develop your practical IT knowledge, whilst working within a motivated friendly team. Personal skills, friendly concise communication and the ability to learn quickly on the job are the most important features of this vacancy.

Main duties

Provide remote technical assistance to existing customers regarding bespoke business management software systems (desktop and mobile)
Basic SQL database administration

Additional duties

Provide some on-site technical assistance and training to existing customers
Desktop PC and Server installation, configuration, diagnosis as required
Client, server and network security management
Multi-site LAN, WAN and VOIP configuration and support
Provide technical support to existing customers in use of a bespoke eCommerce platform

Person requirements

Ability to learn quickly on the job, grasp business knowledge and communicate effectively.
Although training provided, experience of Microsoft client\server environments, Microsoft SQL and networking technologies advantageous.
The role is customer facing, primarily by telephone, and requires good communication skills with excellent spoken English.
Bright, driven and energetic with a passion for learning and technology.
Ideal candidate will have an IT qualification, or some previous working experience within an IT role.
Overnight stays occasionally required for customer visits outside the local area, within Covid 19 guidelines.

Driving licence & car (for customer site visits).
Ability to learn & adapt quickly.
