To ensure that customers seaming machines and associated equipment operate efficiently in order to ensure that components delivered by our client are used in the correct manner, to achieve pre-defined quality standards and efficiency levels.

To support CTS activity at customers to deliver key objectives related to down gauging, technical changes, seaming developments etc.

General Description.

The tasks of the CTS field engineer are received verbally, from customer line operators and / or engineers, where vague indications are given as to the work required. Tracing the actual cause of a breakdown can be complicated by the variation in machine and control system types and the filling conditions.

The engineer will be confronted with problems not directly caused by the double seaming machine and will have to be able to trace, or give a good indication, of where the cause of the problem lies. As a representative, the engineer must always give adequate information to a customer in a courteous manner. Decisions or actions will almost always be taken under pressure to restore production in as short a time as is as possible. The engineer will be able to consult the T.A. manager or colleagues in order to discuss the causes and effects of seaming irregularities. The engineer will be required to work throughout the United Kingdom and occasionally within Europe and may be asked to assist in supporting our customers elsewhere. The activities of the STS engineer are an integral part of the total sales service strategy. The engineer self-sufficiently responds to customer calls for assistance and or technical information.
