Senior Strategy & Partnerships Officer- Kingston upon Thames
GBP300/day

An experienced officer is required to lead on equality, diversity and inclusion for the borough. The council is in the
process of adopting a new equality, diversity and inclusion strategy and needs an experienced officer to lead the
implementation of the delivery plan and to promote and develop best practice.
The role will play a critical part in developing our approach to identifying and tackling disproportionality in services,
further integrating the whole organisation approach to data and ensuring effective equalities practice in project and
programme approaches, commissioning processes and service plans. The role will also lead on the development
of a new set of KPIs for the borough's approach to equality, diversity and inclusion.
The role will ensure we not only meet but exceed our statutory duties, providing advice, guidance and training to
staff and members and working collaboratively with all key stakeholders.
Other responsibilities include;
? Championing community engagement to ensure that it is 'hard wired' into council decision making
considering equality every step of the way
? Working in collaboration with teams across council, residents, communities and other external partners to
draft strategies and delivery plans and support projects that bring benefits to the council and provide
improved outcomes for residents
? Identifying opportunities for partnership working and ways to address shared challenges and priorities
together
? Horizon scanning on policy development, researching best practice and identifying solutions for future
challenges
? Identify opportunities for income generation, efficiencies and opportunities to provide services in a different
way
? Identifying and researching suitable funding opportunities and working with services across the council,
partners and the community to prepare to bids
Person spec
? Have a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
? Have extensive experience in leading on equality, diversity and inclusion policy within a public sector
setting
? Question and challenge ways of working, with an understanding of the bigger picture in terms of the
corporate context and external environment
? Demonstrate agility and adaptability in mindset and ways of working
? Work successfully with key stakeholders within and outside of the Council
? Demonstrate commitment to own personal and professional development to meet the changing demands
of the role
? Demonstrate innovation and creativity
? Actively engage in positive cross organisational communications and team working
? Communicate clearly, confidently and appropriately with colleagues using the best methods of
communication for the task.
Location - work from home/remotely - some site visits may be required.
Hours - 36 hours per week, 5 days p/w
Rate - GBP300 p/d
