advo has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join their Management team, supporting and driving forward a team of Payroll Advisers. Based across two locations Newhaven (main location) & Maidstone - Head office. Are you an effective Manager looking for a challenge in a new and dynamic environment? This could be the role for you! You will join our Management team working closely with other section Managers in HR and Employee Benfits on a full time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 per annum + company car allowance, bonus and company funded benefits: Life Insurance, Private Healthcare, Cash Plan, Income Protection & Pension.

The Payroll Manager role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the smooth running of a team of Payroll advisers, providing outsourced Payroll to a portfolio of clients.

Our Payroll Manager will have involvement in recruitment training and supervision of staff. You will also maintain a reduced portfolio of assigned clients.

As our Payroll Manager you will be responsible for:

- Responsible for overseeing the team's portfolio of outsourced payroll clients assisting individual advisers to reach their personal objectives; suggesting and implementing improvement ideas

- Mentor new members of staff and be a first point of reference for team members, including training and sign off & recruitment where required

- Responsible for monthly 1-2-1's, updating PDP's and carrying out annual appraisals

- Ensure all members of the team are working efficiently and effectively, assessing workloads against client expectations

- Give counsel and oversee complex Payroll cases for clients when required by Payroll staff

- Work closely with Department Managers to ensure a joined-up client approach is taken

- Encourage team development and assist individual members of the team to achieve their personal goals

- Follow up new business opportunities generated from Telemarketing

- Assist Director team with the strategy of the company, new product developments and offerings

- Contribute to Management meetings with team updates and work effectively to an overriding team target

- Responsible for the running of in house payroll

- Provide timely management information in the manner agreed

- Regularly review working processes to ensure advo service levels are achieved and maintained

- Review and assist in the development of internal payroll software

What are we looking for in our Payroll Manager?

- At least 2-3 years' management experience within Payroll industry

- CIPP Level 3 Technician certificate or working towards

- Further education (diploma, degree) advantageous;

- Full UK Driving License;

- Expert technical Payroll knowledge

- Highly motivated / target driven

- Confident communicator

- Leadership capabilities

- Planning, prioritisation & organisational skills essential

- High level of interpersonal skills

- Confidentiality Essential
