LSA's are required for specialist schools across Gloucestershire for short and long term contacts in the new academic year.
Responsibilities include:
* Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
* Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
* Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self esteem and independence.
* Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Support Plans, and/or Communication, Sensory and other programmes.
* Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
* Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher.
Person Specification:
* Working with or caring for children and young people in the 5-16 age range.
* Working with or caring for young people with a range of special educational needs
* Good numeracy and literacy skills,
* TEAM Teach training (desirable).
* Ability to relate well to children and adults.
* Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
* Ability to work with own initiative without supervision.
* Effective use of ICT to support learning and communication.
