HR/People Advisor
We are currently working with a well-established client looking for a HR/People advisor to join one of their sites in the Greenford area. This is a pivotal role that requires a HR professional who is accustomed to a fast-paced environment and used to having the autonomy to make decisions.
Job Purpose:
This position will give the right candidate the opportunity to serve a diverse customer base across all of the client's group UK sites. The focus of the role will be on providing a pro-active HR service to their operations team and provide day to day support to the wider HR team. We're looking for someone positive, hard-working, flexible and who can stand up to the fast-pace nature of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage high volume ER casework, including complex disciplinary/grievance hearings
* Build relationships with key stakeholders in the business and those based at the client's mobile sites
* Preparing contracts of employment for signature
* Take ownership of the absence management procedure for both short term and long term absence
* Support recruitment activity as and when needed- liaising and working with managers at each stage of the process
* Ensure all personal and contractual details are kept up to date, records are kept on their personnel files and changed on the HR information system (ITS). This includes all personal and contractual changes and any other related documentation/information.
* Production of various reports using ITS, as and when required
* Ensure the induction is undertaken and relevant policies are understood, agreed and signed by the employee
* Responsible for processing H&S medical questionnaire
* Ensuring legal compliance is maintained and that all employees have a right to work in the United Kingdom, with valid passport and visa copies, U.K Bank Accounts and NI Cards
* Deal with all queries associated with payroll e.g. from employees, Overtime, Holiday, DSS, IR, Local Authority etc.
* Ensuring all new starters and leavers are processed and all information is sent for payroll
* Offer advice on a variety of HR and ER issues
* Undertaking monthly HR audit to ensure legal compliance is maintained
* Undertake other administrative duties as required
* Providing support for the wider HR team as required
Skills and Experience
* Experience working in HR within food, manufacturing, agriculture or FMCG industry
* Experience of dealing with a variety of ER cases
* Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail along with great verbal and written communication
* Intermediate Word, Outlook and Excel experience
* Basic knowledge of employment law to include working time regulations
* Awareness of implications of GDPR and confidentiality of personal information
* Able to work flexibility and collaboratively
* Builds appropriate professional, friendly and accessible relationships with employees andLine Managers
* Understanding the need and importance of confidentiality in dealing with all HR issues
* Experience of working within an operational environment is highly advantageous
Qualifications and Certificates:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* CIPD qualification is desirable
Mobility:
* Flexibility to travel to other UK sites (including Surrey, Windsor, Suffolk)
* Driving licence and own transport required
