Key Account Manager - Royal Canin

The Job.

Coordination and support of the key account strategy of Royal Canin UK & Ireland in Pet Speciality Retailing (PSR) by establishing, maintaining, and developing the customer relationship with the leading key account, Pets At Home. With the goal of increasing sales and especially expanding and securing the online market share of RC ranges and guaranteeing the accomplishment of PSR pillar's strategy and vision.

Maternity leave cover - 6 months

GBP350 a day (umbrella)

Mid July start date

Key Responsibilities.

Effective business planning in line with Royal Canin's growth ambition and OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures) combined with the Key Account's ambitions for growth.
Build collaborative relationships with buyers, buying assistants and buying directors and likewise with internal Royal Canin stakeholders that can influence key decisions at Key Account level.
Arrange as necessary meetings with senior stakeholders within the Key Account and Royal Canin to support collaboration and an understanding of both party's strategic direction.
Responsibility for the profit and loss of the Key Account.
Overall management of all aspects of the customer's terms negotiations, trade expenditure, advertisement and promotional spend, promotional investment, communication on new product development and any price list changes. Implement qualitative / quantitative terms structure in line with Global guidelines.
Annual range reviews of dog and cat category, in line with category range plan recommendations and Perfect Store program whilst supporting the Global strategic direction on portfolio placement
Close cooperation and communication with marketing and field teams to implement the measures and goals agreed in key account meetings
Maximise all business opportunities be developing online presence: visibility on the website, listings, e-marketing, online promotion, newsletters, social media.
Co-create annual promotional & marketing calendar with marketing team in line with business plan and company objectives
Ensure education and training is linked to the trading terms under qualitative measures and a training program is agreed with the trainers B2B.
Participation in DMR element of S&OP process to ensure appropriate sales forecasting and stock availability - to include any business areas of challenge for review and action.
Periodically reporting to Sales and Marketing Director on performance versus business plan, combined with risk analysis and updates on category first approach.
Analysis and observation of the PSR market, competitors, customer needs and online market development with the aim of expanding the market positionContext and Scope.

The priority of this position is to develop the potential of the Key Account and support the commercial network to implement the growth strategy.
To carry out the work in an efficient way, the position must have the decision groups perfectly identified to be the business "consultant", multiplying the technical contacts. This position will be the interface between Royal Canin and the headquarters of the Key Account with the aim of improving the communication flow.
The position requires a great capacity for analysis and communication, since the analysis of information and data will be the basis for proposing actions, and should be responsible for transmitting the information obtained to the actors with whom they collaborate, both in RC and customer contacts.Educations and Professional Qualifications.

A Bachelor or master's degree in business or marketing.Knowledge and Experience.

Managing accounts at headquarters level experience.
Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written) to a variety of audiences.
Excellent analytical skills.
Proficient use of office tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat).
Ability to engage customers and function as a team player and project leader.
Comfortable setting priorities manage multiple tasks and remain focused in a changing environment.
Fluency in English written and spoken.
