ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

As part of the ActionAid Federation, we work with women and girls, our partners, and dedicated staff in over 40 countries to end violence and fight poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

We are looking for a talented organiser with experience of building the capacity of the public to organise and campaign to support women and girls to realise their rights. This is an exciting role within a supportive team that welcomes and values innovation and new ideas.

Our Community Organising Specialist is a key role in Campaigns and our influencing work, leading the development and training of our network of committed activists across the UK.

You will be proactive in finding opportunities for campaigners to contribute to ActionAid and coalition campaigns, and create ways for campaigners to build skills, agency and run their own campaigns.

You will work with our digital campaigns lead and advocacy colleagues to grow a network that campaigns efficiently and effectively, and will have the chance to develop your own feminist leadership and encourage that same development in campaigners.

It is a really exciting time to join us, as we defend women's rights programmes from UK aid cuts, and support allies working for climate justice at COP26. You will be a key stakeholder and member of the project teams working on both these issues, with the chance to shape the tactical approach.

We are looking for someone with experience of leading and motivating individuals to work together to campaign effectively. Strong relationship-building and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of coordinating effective campaigns, and managing volunteer networks. You should also be able to build strong relationships with activists and campaign groups.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working. We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process
