Volvo, Maintenance Fitter (Mechanical) - Permanent Position Motherwell. Excellent Opportunity, 4 day working week
This is a permanent role that involves Shift work. Working Days, Backs, Nights with O/T available. Basic hourly rate for day shift is GBP16.29ph, Back shift and Night shift are paid at GBP21.72ph and all overtime comes with additional allowances.
Volvo Construction Equipment Haulers - Scotland, designs and manufactures Rigid & Articulated Trucks for distribution around the world. Part of Volvo Construction Equipment - Global, the Motherwell site has manufactured trucks for over 70 years and has benefited from recent, significant investment in both plant and infrastructure to produce the next generation of 100 ton + vehicles.

Job Purpose/Role
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be part of a team carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance routines within all areas of the manufacturing facility. This will include, installation, retrofit and repair of plant and services involving a broad range of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment including:
CNC Machine Tools
Manual Machines
Shotblast/ Paint Shop
Compressed air systems
Overhead Cranes
Mobile Equipment
Installation and Testing
Commissioning of EquipmentVolvo are currently operating in a covid safe environment where measures are taken to ensure the safety of all colleagues.
Experience/Qualifications
Ideally you will be time served or have completed a Modern Apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering discipline. Preferably with SVQ level 3 and/or HNC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/ experience.
