The Role:
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced PA and Tax Administration Support to provide both individual day-to-day support to our Senior Partner and administration support to the Small Business Tax team located at our Borehamwood office. This is a busy and varied role which requires relevant experience.
Responsibilities of the PA and Tax Administration Support:
Receiving and dealing with telephone calls in the Partner's absence professionally, assessing appropriate re-direction of calls, taking messages or using initiative to deal with queries, and welcoming clients for the Partner
Diary management: Manage and monitor all client appointments, arrange internal meetings, staff reviews, lunches and all other relevant meeting requests
Providing Reception cover when annual leave/sickness overlap
Preparing and overseeing all documentation, correspondence for the Partner and Managers in the Small Business Tax Department
Running of analytical reports to assess the current status of information held/sent to Clients, Companies House, HMRC such as Financial statements, CT600's, Income tax returns, engagement letters, clearance requests, disengagement letters, etc.
Producing workflow reports, in conjunction with the Statutory Department, so that the Partner and Managers are aware of the current status of their portfolios
Ensuring that the preparation of full and abbreviated financial statements, corporation tax returns, Income tax returns and other time sensitive documents are filed with the regulatory authorities within the deadlines
Preparing Corporation tax and Income tax payment reminder letters
Preparation of Audit Resignation Letters informing the relevant Regulatory Authorities of a change in status of a Client
Requesting, chasing and maintaining a schedule of Bank Audit Letters
Preparing the Partner's Quarterly & monthly Bookkeeping invoices every month
Arranging Social events for the Small Business department
Assisting in ad-hoc administrative assignments when required
Maintaining client confidentiality at all times in accordance with Sopher + Co LLP Policies and Procedures
Requirements for the PA and Tax Administration Support:
Previous demonstratable PA and general Administration experience
Experience in a similar Accountancy practice or Professional services advantageous
Confident in working to a high standard
Excellent written and oral communication skills and a flexible approach to your work
Impeccable organisation skills and time management with the ability to prioritise work and multi-task
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work unsupervised displaying great initiative and team work
