Devon County Council is looking for a talented and experienced professional to become our Data & Intelligence Product Manager. Due to incredible growth and success over the last couple of years, we have commissioned a data and intelligence platform (built on Microsoft Azure) to help DCC become an evidence-led authority, making intelligence-based decisions so people in Devon can live their lives well. Building on this success, you will have the proven ability to understand a customer's business needs to design data and intelligence technical solutions. You will then lead a small team of Product Specialists to develop and support these solutions at both a service and an organisation-wide level.

You will work in close partnership with Smarter Devon - Devon County Council's data and intelligence transformation programme - to deliver the Smarter Devon Strategy. You will have strong communication and partnership working skills along with an ability to foster strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will also have experience of working with customers and IT colleagues alike. Experience with cloud analytic solutions like Azure is essential. Experience with advanced data visualisation tools such as Power BI is desirable.

In the future you will have a lead role in supporting our organisation in its adoption of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.

The post is formally based at County Hall, Exeter. You must be able to travel to other sites around Devon, and occasionally beyond, as required to meet the demands of the post. However, all Council staff are currently working at home wherever possible, so you must be confident about working with customers and leading your team remotely through on-line meetings.

Working for DCC offers benefits such as flexitime, a pension scheme, a park and ride service to County Hall, a staff discount scheme, and 21 days annual leave (plus statutory holidays). For more information, please look at our Working for Devon website.

The Data & Intelligence Product Manager job description gives an indication of the span of this post's role and responsibilities. Your application must show how you meet the essential criteria listed in the person specification.

For an informal discussion about this opportunity please ring (phone number removed) and contact Richard Palmer (ICT Change and Supplier Manager) or Stuart Cockerell (Data and Intelligence Project Manager).

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
