Maintenance Supervisor
Our People Are Our Greatest Resource
Maintenance Supervisor (Multi Skilled)
Salary: Competitive
At Viridor, we're one of the UK's leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies. We put waste into action, transforming it into high quality recyclables, raw materials and energy and are at the forefront of the UK's green economy. We're undergoing rapid change and development which provides opportunities for those who are seeking a role to make their mark and drive forward a best in class performance.
Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) process large volumes of municipal, commercial and industrial dry mixed materials to produce a range of high quality recyclable outputs. A combination of advanced mechanical sorting techniques and manual quality control is used to separate the materials so that they can be reprocessed into new products. The technologies we use at our 'next generation' MRFs are now so sophisticated that we are able to recycle over 95% of the materials that go through the plants.
Our Milton Keynes MRF requires a talented Maintenance Supervisor (Multi Skilled) who will plan, organise and undertake corrective and reactive work, and be responsible for delivering improvement projects leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction. Working in a small but crucial team of engineers, reporting to Site Management, the MS will ensure delivery of the Planned Maintenance schedules, maximising equipment availability and performance whist still achieving output level required to meet production demands.
Our ideal Maintenance Supervisor will have:
• Relevant engineering background with proven supervisory/management experience
• Completed apprenticeship (NVQ level 3), HNC or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline
• Previous experience working within a process, production or manufacturing environment
• Ability to lead and motivate others
• In depth understanding of a strategic approach to engineering and maintenance
• An understanding of how lean concepts fit within the production and maintenance environment
• Good understanding of engineering best practice
• Analytical approach to problem solving with a good understanding of stock control, risk assessment and condition report.
• IT literate, able to analyse data and produce detailed reports
• Working knowledge of health and safety regulations with a strong no compromise approach
• Full Driving Licence
At Viridor, we invest in our people to reward them for their hard work. That's why we have a host of company benefits available to you when you join, including an enhanced pension scheme where we match up to 7% of your earnings, depending on how much you put in. We also offer free eye tests and safety eyewear where needed, as well as a whole range of cinema and retail discounts across stores, hotels and holidays.
