Physics Lecturer
College location: John Ruskin College (Croydon)
Salary: GBP24,571-GBP34,972 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience and pro-rated accordingly)
Hours: Part-Time (2.5 days/week)
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and talented Physics Lecturer to join our friendly and professional Technical & Vocational Skills department.
In this important post you will be delivering both teaching and assessing on our Level 2 BTEC Applied Science course, and delivering Physics related core units across Level 3, Year 1 Science courses.
Working closely with the Head of Department and the rest of the departmental team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with learners to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor, promote attendance, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.
The successful candidate must have:
* A teaching qualification (at ideally level 5 or above such as a PGCE, DET/DTLLS or Cert ED)
* Relevant FE teaching and assessing experience across BTEC levels 2 - 4
* A degree, specifically in Physics
* Specialist in the subject of Physics, and able to teach level 3 content or above
* Experience of tutoring and pastoral care for 16-19 in the FE sector
* Experience in employer engagement for STEM provision (and ideally a STEM specialist)
* BTEC internal verification experience
* Relevant industry experience
An assessing or internal verifier qualification would also be highly advantageous
