Job Title: Operational Generalist HR Manager
Salary: GBP38 - 43K basic
Location: Doncaster


A highly successful dynamic manufacturing company is seeking an experienced operational generalist HR Manager to lead the small HR Team and take responsibility to manage the HR department leading on the HR strategy whilst building credible long-lasting relationships with the senior Management team.

The HR Manager will provide the lead for group acquisitions, on-boarding of new employees and Tupe.

This is an ideal role for a creative thinking HR Manager with sound business judgement and someone who enjoys a typical industrial manufacturing environment and is prepared to put on 'the hard hat' and walk around the site taking interest in individuals, process and having interest in achieving a good understanding of the business and the people who work there.

Working as part of the senior Operational team and embracing this particularly friendly and people centric team culture where everyone supports each other and are prepared to do what is necessary to 'get the job done'. A very open, easy going working environment which allows flexi/hybrid working.

This well-established organisation is seeing incredible growth and recently acquired two new sites. They are very positive about the future and expect the head-count to grow.


This is a No1 HR position working in a truly engaging and positive environment, working with great down-to-earth and approachable colleagues and a small well established successful HR team. The role is available simply because the current HR Manager is moving across into Operations. The team culture here is outstanding with a great 'can do' attitude working in a very positive open and friendly Head Office.

The HR Manager will take responsibility for formulating the HR strategy, working closely with the senior leadership team within operations whilst making sure that their HR experience and knowledge adds value to the business.

Taking responsibility to lead on Training & Development of staff, looking at Talent, attraction and succession. Looking at putting in place a strong and robust performance management system and bringing HR into the business to benefit the overall business.


CIPD level 5 (min)

At least 2+ years HRB or HRM experience working in a No1 HR position in a manufacturing (blue/white) collar environment.

The ideal HR candidate will be able to demonstrate and give clear examples of working in operational HR in a full HR generalist position at HRM or no1 in HR level.

Strong background in stakeholder management

Excellent ER - employment law background

Previously managed/mentored HR colleagues/staff

Experience of working in a highly inclusive small-medium sized business in a 'hands on' HR role

Previously worked or has experience of working in 'world class' manufacturing and an understanding of modern manufacturing techniques practised.

The ability to think outside the box, bring new ideas and vision to the role and the ability to adapt quickly

Ability to make good business decisions based on accurate analysis of sound data.

An advantage would be experience of working in the renewable energy sector.

Strong communication skills at all levels.
