Capital Delivery - Portfolio Lead (Town Centre Transformation)- Barnet
GBP600/day
The Local Authority has a large and diverse portfolio of Capital Projects and needs high calibre project and programme management to help shape and deliver plans to deliver key infrastructure to support the significant growth across the borough (c.GBP300m in total).
The authority has recognised the need for a dedicated central team to provide high quality, consistent and effective delivery of the capital portfolio and is now looking to build and grow an in house team to do so. The team will lead and manage all future capital schemes for the Council and this is a lead role within that team.
The portfolio typically consists of buildings (excluding housing) such as schools, leisure centres, community centres parks and open spaces as well as corporate projects such as office accommodation and operations bases.
This is an exciting and varied role that will be responsible for all project and programme management aspects of the Councils Capital portfolios in either Greenspaces and Leisure or within some of the Councils regeneration areas such as projects to transform town centres.
Projects under control of the role holder will typically be capital schemes that the Council is procuring and delivering directly although the role will be involved in some projects delivered through other means.
The post holder will operate in a matrix management environment as this role has wide ranging responsibilities across the council including: working with Strategic Directors and service leads to enable their service strategies, liaising closely with Regeneration and Housing colleagues to ensure consistent strategic alignment and reporting direct to relevant Boards and senior Council groups on large-scale strategic projects involving the corporate estate.
The individual in question will be flexible, highly motivated and enthusiastic, inspiring their team around them and aiming to bring about change for the better. This will be alongside developing the council's capital schemes as the role is fundamental in the development within the council
