Role: Landscape Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: GBP25-27k
Do you have enjoy working outdoors in all seasons and have experience carrying out landscape maintenance duties to a high standard? Do you have good communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead a site team effectively and efficiently?
The Parks Trust is committed to safeguarding the land and the environment for future generations. It is an independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes.
In this role you will be supervising a small team of General Landscape Maintenance technicians and trainees to ensure the green estate is maintained and presented well. You must also be prepared and motivated to take on further training that will enhance your individual skill levels.
Requirements:
Full driving license
NPTC CS30/31 Chainsaw and maintenance/cross cut and small fell
NPTC PA1/PA6 Safe handling and application of pesticides by hand held equipment
3 years experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
Chainsaw certification preferred but not essential
Experience and understanding of tree work and silvicultural practices preferred but not essential
Duties:
Working with the Working Foreperson and Direct Works Manager, plan all maintenance work within designated contract areas e.g. Stanton Low, V6, Grafton Street and H5, Portway
Carry out required site maintenance work as well as identify any additional work required
Ensure all machinery is properly maintained and in good working order, being used correctly and safely
Carry out risk assessments and implement measures, including health and safety measures, on site.
Assist with keeping the parks tidy and presentable; carry out litter picking, minor graffiti removal and other duties as required.
Assist with the training of other staff and 3rd parties as required
Liaise with the Direct Works Manager and other team members on issues associated with the management of the green estate
As part of a call-out system, respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies regarding The Trust's holdings as required - which may include weekend and evening patrols with Community Rangers
