We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client who has a fantastic reputation within the Portsmouth area for its well-established Residential Care Home. The company has a number of homes across the South of England and are well-known for providing top quality care. They are seeking a strong Senior Care Assistant with previous care experience to join their dedicated care team.

About the home:

This is a beautiful, purpose built 60 bedded residential care home specialising in elderly and dementia care with a team of dedicated, caring and loving staff who support residents and their individual needs. They were awarded a "GOOD" CQC report rating GOOD in all areas of care from their last inspection. The home's design and ethos of care was created specifically to allow residents to do as much for themselves as they wish whilst providing a respectful and caring touch with any support needed. Each room is beautifully furnished to a high standard and comes with an en-suite.

The home is located in the heart of Portsmouth in Fratton and is easily accessible by both road and public transport.

Job Role - Senior Care Assistant

Hours - Full or Part Time (24, 36, 42 or 48 hours per week, alternate weekends)

Shifts - 8am-8pm

Service - Residential

Rate of Pay- GBP10.95ph weekdays and GBP11.45ph weekends (PAID BREAKS!)

Senior Care Assistant Duties:

To Supervise and participate in the delivery of care to residents

To lead on the responsibility of residents individual care plans to ensure a person centred approach

To write and update care plans

To provide leadership and support to the care staff

Responsible for the administration of medication

As a Senior Carer you will be expected to lead by example at all times and provide strong leadership skills to the rest of the care team. You should have a strong work ethic and embody your care homes attitude towards delivering the highest standards of care.

Senior Care Assistant Requirements:

Previous experience within a Residential Care Home as a Senior HCA

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care

Medication trained

Proficient with shift leading, care plans, safeguarding and risk assessments
