Production Operator

Based in Barnstaple, our client is a leader in paper based packaging; supplying market sectors such as FMCG and e-commerce.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic Production Operators to join their team of printers, die-cutters, multi-point gluers and mechanical assemblers. Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for all aspects of maintaining compliance within the production areas, including manufacturing, quality, health and safety and housekeeping requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• To operate at all times in line with training provided and in particular with the requirements of all safe systems of work related to the tasks performed
• To always work in line with advised health and safety and company quality standards
• To seek at all times to minimise loss or damage to product and raw material, to reduce wastage and to improve efficiency where possible
• To operate production and paperwork / computer systems related to the role in line with training provided
• Ensure the machine and work area are kept clean, tidy and free of any health and safety hazards

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:

• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Excellent practical problem solving ability
• Experience working in a fast paced environment
• An energetic and proactive "hands on" approach, complemented by accuracy, adherence to deadlines and procedures
• Good communication, literary, numeracy and computer skills
• A flexible approach to changing work tasks

Training and development will be provided. Successful candidates will be assigned to work the day shift (07:30-16:00).
