Legal Assistant - Carlisle
Your new company
Our client is a well-known reputable law firm based in Carlisle. They offer a wide variety of services and pride themselves on strong relationships with their clients, ensuring they give the best advice and support. This position is office based so travel to Carlisle will be essential.
Your new role
You will be joining a diverse and well-known organisation, maintaining their excellent standards of service, assisting lawyers with administrative duties, delivering documents, and outlining detailed information to clients. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Diary Management, arranging meetings, appointments, and conferences. Internal and external.
- Copy typing and digital dictation for correspondences
- Prepare legal documentation for clients
- Answer calls and direct to the correct point of contact
- Maintain, update, and prepare legal files for fee earners
- Assist fee earners with case searches
- Deliver quotes delegated by the Head of Department
- Follow strict compliance checks, handling sensitive & confidential information
- Contact clients to discuss open cases and gather information
- Assist with general Ad-hoc duties such as organising files, photocopying and scanning confidential documents.
- Produce monthly reports
- Liaise with cashiers regarding payments and billing
- Prioritise workloads efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Be a proactive team player to ensure a smooth running of business
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position, you will need 12 months recent experience in a secretarial role, or experience in legal administration. Must have strong written & verbal skills, excellent IT skills, be a fast and accurate typist, with a detailed understanding of Microsoft office, including Outlook & PowerPoint. You will need a good eye for detail, to process requests and manage documentation.
